  • Monel steel - for decades this material was almost forgotten by string manufacturers. Pyramid is proud to announce the return of genuine Monel strings. Until the early 1970's, either Monel steel or pure nickel was used as the core material for electric guitar string production. Unfortunately, this trend was lost in the direction of cheaper, and thus nickel-plated, steel strings. The nickel-plated steel strings were then also wound on hexagonal steel cores and mass-produced. PYRAMID manufactures the Monel steel strings according to old tradition and winds the Monel wire on a round steel core. If you are looking for an alternative to the Pure Nickel strings, then the Monel Classics are probably the right choice.
