The Acoustic Guitar Keeps It Au Naturel
With names like Huddie Leadbetter (a.k.a. Leadbelly), Pete Seeger, and Leo Kottke, the acoustic guitar quickly rose to fame in the 20th century. Derived from the classical guitar, acoustic guitars are usually strung with steel strings, rather than nylon.
The steel strings ring in a brighter, louder sound to the guitar. To be able to handle the pull of the steel strings, these guitars are constructed with a much more durable composition than classical guitars.
