Features of the Digitech Bad Monkey 

Construction - Extraordinarily solid metal construction with the entire lower end comprising of a very chunky and positive footswitch.

Ins and Outs - One in on the right side of the body with two outs, Norma and Effect. If using just one amp or mixer channel use the normal out. If using two mixer or amp channels you can use the normal out for the dry signal and the second out for the effects signal.

Power - 9 volt battery supplied or optional adaptor.

Controls - Level controls the output to the amp. Low and High boost or cut the EQ and Gain controls the degree of overdrive. 

Sound of the Digitech Bad Monkey 

At the lowest Gain level there's an underlying flavour of grit. This increases quite subtly as you progress around the sweep of the gain control. Full on gives a nicely saturated Valve-U-Like tone without losing good note definition. Excellent for very heavy blues and heavy rock soloing.     

Overall Impressions of the Digitech Bad Monkey

The Digitech Bad Monkey is not a dramatic in-your-face-murder-box and I like it better for that. The job it does is something you need if you play rock guitar. It's one of the best kind of effects because it makes your guitar sound better rather than simply different.
