The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G, the pocket recorder you won't need an enormous pocket to hold! The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G is shirt pocket friendly. It's perfect for podcasting, field and location recording, audio for video, or recording a practice session.

Weighing only 1.7 ounces with battery, and only a half-inch thick, the Yamaha Pocketrak 2G Pocket Recorder should be in every gigbag and musician-levi pocket. 2 GB of internal flash memory allows the Yamaha Pocketrak 2G to recorder up to 9 hours of continuous MP3 recording, while the rechargeable AAA nickel-hydrogen battery lasts for 19 hours of MP3 recording. The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G records two tracks to linear PCM and compressed MP3 formats via the internal microphone, external mic input, or line input, and plays back MP3, WMA, WAV, and DRM10-WMA formats. Plugging the Pocketrak 2G sliding USB connector into a powered USB bus simultaneously recharges the battery and transfers audio files to a PC or Mac.

The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G features a built-in high-sensitivity tilt-up stereo microphone with noise reduction and switchable automatic level control. A line input allows connecting external audio sources. Monitor via either the built-in speaker or via the headphone output. In addition to being a recorder, the Pocketrak 2G functions as a high-quality digital audio player, playing DRM10-encoded WMA or MP3 files that you have encoded from CDs or have purchased from online music sites. During playback the Pocketrak 2G features repeat of a single song, repeat of all songs in a specified folder, and random playback. There are even selectable equalizer settings and a bass boost function for use during playback. The Pocketrak 2G is the only portable recorder to house an on-board speaker in addition to a headphone jack, making it a handy portable music player that supports MP3 and WMA files with DRM10 support.

The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G ships with an advanced Sanyo geneloop nickel-hydrogen rechargeable battery that can power the 2G portable for up to 19 hours of continuous MP3 recording. Recharge the battery simply by plugging the Pocketrak 2G directly into your computer's USB port on your computer. The Sanyo geneloop battery can be recharged up to 1,000 times, and does not suffer from the self-discharge problems of similar batteries so it will be ready for use at any time. The Pocktrak 2G can also be powered by a standard alkaline battery, but the supplied geneloop battery is probably the only battery you will ever need.

Included with the Yamaha Pocketrak 2G is a USB extension cable, stereo earbud earphones, a leather carrying case and stand adapter, as well as Cubase AI4, an "Advanced Integration" version of Steinberg's legendary digital audio workstation software specially built to seamlessly integrate with Yamaha hardware.

The Yamaha Pocketrak 2G ships bundled with Steinberg Cubase AI4 software for both Mac and PC computers so its easy to edit and manipulate your recordings on a computer. Also included are Halion One software sampler, VST3 plug-in effects and sample loops.
