The Roland Sonic Cell puts the power and sound quality of a Roland hardware synth on your desktop. The Sonic Cell combines an audio MIDI interface, expandable synth and portable backing machine. With a 128-voice sound module with more than 1,100 patches from the Roland Fantom X synth, dual SRX expansion bays, built-in USB audio interface, and ability to play SMFs MIDI files and WAV/AIFF/MP3 audio files, the Roland Sonic Cell is the answer for computer-based musicians and gigging performers who want a compact, integrated pro sound module and USB audio interface solution. You can even take the Roland Sonic Cell on the road, as it's capable of playing back audio and MIDI files, perfect for the gigging musician.

Equipped with the state-of-the-art sound engine from the Fantom X, Sonic Cell delivers the studio- sound quality of a dedicated Roland hardware synthesizer. A new waveform set has been created for SonicCell, including a selection of acoustic instruments, drums, and percussion that are programmed to provide the ultimate in expression and realism. Sonic Cell's internal sound bank can be expanded and customized via two internal SRX expansion bays. Drive Roland Sonic Cell from a computer, another synthesizer, or a MIDI keyboard or guitar controller, and you'll enjoy unsurpassed sound quality, reliability, and flexibility.

More than a stand alone synth, Roland Sonic Cell also includes a USB audio interface. Connect Sonic Cell directly to your computer's USB port, and record and create music with no additional hardware. Plug a microphone, guitar, or other instruments into Roland Sonic Cell and record your live audio tracks directly into your computer. Because Sonic Cell minimizes the burden on the computer's CPU, you'll notice more efficient and stable performance. SonicCell ships bundled with Cakewalk's SONAR LE recording software, and a plug-in style PC software editor, which makes sound designing and effects programming fast and friendly. Sonic Cell is the perfect all-in-one solution for synthesis and recording.

ROLAND SONIC CELL SYNTH MODULE AS A BACKING BAND


As well as being a synthesizer and audio-interface functions, Sonic Cell can be used as a virtual backing band. Create a playlist of songs or backing tracks with the included software Playback Editor, and transfer the playlist to a USB memory stick. Insert the stick into Sonic Cell's USB port, and Sonic Cell becomes a stand-alone song player that you can play and control onstage. Sonic Cell can play back WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files as well as standard MIDI Files. Load files on a memory stick, and the Roland Sonic Cell can play them back.

The Roland Sonic Cell ships with owner's manual, USB cable, Ediotr CD-ROM, Sonar LE CD ROM, and AC adapter.
