The M-Audio Studiophile AV40 are high-performance near-field monitor speakers packaged in a space-saving desk top design.

The compact M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 powered reference speakers will be used by travelling musicians who want to monitor and record on the road, and as desktop monitors in home project studios with limited space. Though small in size the Studiophile AV40 monitors deliver the same M-Audio quality as their big brothers. A 4-inch polypropylene-coated woofer and 3/4-inch ferrofluid-cooled silk dome tweeters combine to create punchy lows, crisp highs, and an overall even, transparent response. Optimage III tweeter wave guides guarantee a wide sweet spot for superior stereo imaging.

The Studiophile AV40 speakers are housed in dense wood cabinets, delivering far more bass response than you'd find in plastic-housed speakers. The AV40 utilizes a 20-Watts-per-channel internal power amps in each speaker and class A/B circuitry for ample response and power, while Optimage III wave-guide technology optimizes the tweeters for superior aural imaging. You also get flexible input/output options, including a 1/4-inch TRS balanced and RCA unbalanced inputs, a 1/8-inch headphone output, a 1/8-inch stereo auxiliary input, volume control, and bass boost control. The Studiophile AV 40 monitors are magnetically shielded so they can be placed on a desktop near computer screens without interference.
