Hi all,

First of all, thanks to all contributors of this forum, I've found it a useful and friendly place. Here's the question: I dropped playing the guitar many yrs ago (about 20...) without progressing much beyond mastering a few chords, and would like to pick it up again. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep it up though, so I'm looking to spend max £200 for guitar+amp. I've seen several budget models with good reviews (ie Squire affinity, Yamaha Pacifica, Vintage V100), does any of these stand out? My target sound is Jimi Hendrix playing Sunshine of your love at the BBC Lulu show in '69 (showing my age, I'm afraid).

thanks in advance for all comments

Luca

OK for the amp I'd suggest the Spider III 15 or the Laney LG12

Guitars?  Have a look at the Epiphone G-310, the Ibanez Gax30, the Epiphone LP100, the Cort Z22, the Aria PE Elite, the Collins P12 and the Vintage V100

Some combinations might stretch your budget, but I'm sure you'll fall for something in this list. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
