| Hi people...
This is my first post, so be gentle!!!
Basically, I had a Trace Elliot Supertramp Twin (a hybrid jobbie...) which sounded great... really great, until a great hum came from the speakers, then smoke started piping out of the valve cover at the back. Initially, I thought the valve had gone, but it turns out it was the transistors, and it has now destroyed the amp.
So, I really need a new one, and am looking to go 100% valve, but am torn/confused between certain ones, VOX AC30, Fender Deville, Marshall (Don't know which, as there are about a billion different ones) Orange etc etc...
I would like a combo, as I can't quite justify having a stack quite yet. So any advice would be really helpful. I'll be using it for medium/small sized venues. The Trace was 100w, which was perfect! But I've heard valve amps don't need quite as much power.
I play telecasters, not sure if that helps at all!

| | Call Ian at iMuso (mention my answer to this thread) and talk to him about some surplus stock of a discontinued Orange that's hanging around in the Orange warehouse. I can't really remember the model number, but I know I was mightily impressed when I tried one. Could be the possibility of a deal...!
