This is more me wondering, im not actually looking at purchasing a guitar.

Was just wondering what you thought was the best Les Paul copie around (under, lets say £200).

And well done on the whole surgery thing.

Thanks, it's all a bit bizarre and not properly sunk in yet!

Not a Les Paul player at all, not my type of guitar... but to be honest, I think you'd be hard pressed to beat the Ibanez ART100 for the money. The ESP EC50 looks a good buy too, and I've heard good things about the Vintage V100. There is of course the ubiquitous Epiphone Les Paul Studio. Any guitar in that price range, though, you're probably going to want to replace the pickups fairly early on, so to me it's false economy. You can get a lot more for another £100 or so, including the Epiphone LP Standard, Ibanez ARC300 and the PRS Tremonti SE.
