So, as in my other review i have been highly impressed with my laney VC-15 valve amp, so i was purchasing a 1x12 cab to help improve the sound on it, and also to elimante the annoying valve rattle from the valves so to use the amp as a head so the natural choice was the GS112VE as its designed to match my amp perfectly.

So what difference does the cab make? What do I think of it, and how its made?

The cab adds so much of a fuller sound to the 1x10 of the VC-15, the 12" speaker helps add a bass response that was lacking previously in the amp, and the build quality is excellent.

At the same time as i ordered the cab, just of interest and due to the cheap price and having heard good reviews of it, i ordered the Epiphone Valve Junior Head. This is a 5 Watt single ended class A valve amp and this is a real Jewel of an amp... the build quality is excellent and through the Laney 1x12 cab it sounds AMAZING! It really brings my guitars to life. For 5 watts this amp is far to loud to run at full volume in my house which amazed me. This amp is the definition of simplicity, and input a power switch and a volume control, that is it. And you know what, the strongest point of this amp is due to its simplicity. The fact the amps tone comes completely from your fingers and your guitar really make this amp shine. The sound of the amp varies from guitar to guitar because of this and as an example:
It gives a really chimey middy AC30ish clean sound with my crafter 335 copy with the volume at about 1/3rd
If i connect up my Ibanez RG and turn it all the way up i have Classic rock in abundance
If I use my strat its great for blues sounds,

And the beauty is all three guitars can give all three sounds depending on

1) Where i put the volume control on the amp

2) Where you put the volume on the guitar.

This amp is amazingly responsive to your volume control and your picking technique, and as such sounds like a much more expensive amp than an £84.99 amp has any right too. I'd love to know the man in the jars view on this amp, and how he thinks his guitars sound through it, particuarly a tele of some sort because come next year im in the market for a tele, but thats another topic.
