If you can get the VHalen distortion and boost the treble and bass and almost totally scoop the mid, that gives you a basic metal/heavey distortion tone, then add a small amount of delay (for soloing with). Shouldnt be too hard, I have a G1 but i assume the effects are much the same. I dunno if they still make them but I had a zoom 707II, nicest multi-effects pedal ive owned (until i get a Vox Tonelab) but yea, scoop the mid and boost ur gain, treble and bass, it gives you a really tight distortion.

Peas out, Rob

Yea, but this one goes to 11....

recently got one myself, and as hard as it is admit had to spend an evening reading the manual properly!

once i did that i found a nice fat clean sound then copied to a patch i didn't like much and edited it to add drive and a bit of reverb. is worth spending a bit of time with and finding out yourself. I've since setup 5 on a bank i will use most including my distortion sound with added wah for those solos so i can use the pedal just what i wanted
