Need grit? This multipurpose Digitech DHH distortion pedal has
flexible controls that let you dial in the right tone for your
setup. If you want just a little dirt or you need your amp to
sound like a raging stack, the Digitech DHH Hot Head can
do it. Low and High tone controls give you the flexibility to
boost or cut the bass and treble frequencies, the Level knob
boosts the output level of your signal, and the Gain knob dials
up mild to wild distortion. The Amp output runs into the input
of your amplifier and the dedicated Mixer output has a cabinet
emulation circuit that lets you run direct into a mixer or
recorder when you don't want to lug your amp along.

Features of the Hot Head Distortion
Construction - Extraordinarily solid metal construction with the entire lower end comprising of a very chunky and positive footswitch.
Ins and Outs - One in on the right side of the body with two outs, Norma and Effect. If using just one amp or mixer channel use the normal out. If using two mixer or amp channels you can use the normal out for the dry signal and the second out for the effects signal.
Power - 9 volt battery supplied or optional adaptor.
Controls - Level controls the output to the amp. Low and High boost or cut the EQ and Gain controls all the real, important business.
Sound of the Digitech Hot Head Distortion
With the Gain down at minimum the Hot Head delivered a well-balanced gritty, heavy rock sound suited to rhythm, power chords and soloing. Taking the Gain to halfway the distortion is distinctly heavier but definition remains good. Full on the Hot Head delivers a great, grinding metal sound that doesn't run away with you.
Overall Impressions of the Digitech Hot Head Distortion
The Digitech Hot Head gives the guitarist a wide sweep of distortion levels. The most important characteristic is they are all useable, none of them are bonkers and they can all be controlled easily with good playing technique.
