The British bass amp specialists Ashdown Engineering have launched a dedicated chromatic bass guitar tuner with a bass specific frequency range of A0 27.5 Hz - C8 4186 Hz at NAMM 2010. The Ashdown BassOmeter chromatic bass tuner joins a range of bass guitar accessories that already includes six bass specific effects pedals and a bass wireless system, adding to Ashdown's reputation for providing bass players with a comprehensive range of bass amplification and related products to meet all their recording and live performance needs.

Accurate tuning is achieved with the Ashdown BassOmeter tuner with visual feedback from both an illuminated VU-style meter, and a series of 11 LEDs, with the note shown in a separate display. Play the string you wish to tune and its nearest notw will be shown in the note display. Tune the string up or down so the tuning needle in the round illuminated meter pointes directly up to the zero position, and the central red LED in the series of 11 tuning LEDs illuminates. The extent the note is sharp or flat is indicated by the uning meter needle's deviation to the right or left of the central zero position, and the tuning LEDs illuminated blue to the right or left of the central red LED.

The Ashdwon BassOmeter is housed in a durable, die-cast metal case with chrome bull bars to protect the tuning meter and LCD display. Like all Ashdown bass effects pedals, the Ashdown BassOmeter bass tuner features true bypass switching to ensure that the instrument signal remains completely unaffected when the tuner is switched out of the signal path.

When switched off, the Ashdown BassOmeter chromatic bass guitar tuner is byapssed completely so the signal from your bass guitar is uncompromised. During tuning, the output of the BassOmeter tuner is muted so the tuning process is not audible.
